On Linux Part Deux

Given the positiveliness (yes, that’s a word…now) with the whole Linux experience I’ve decided to go all in on it on the laptop so I’ve just ordered a 512GB SSD so I can switch out the current one. That way I’ll get to get a full, clean Linux Mint installation rather than a dual-boot with limited storage. The current SSD is only 128GB and split into two equal sized partitions. This way I’ll get to keep Windows on the other drive if something should happen that would require me to use that again on the MazzyBook. I don’t know what scenario would result in that but my autistic ass can’t do a damn thing without planning for contingencies and then have contingencies to those.
Next up will be upgrading to 16GB RAM but I’m not entirely sure there’s actually a vacant slot for another module on the mobo and I won’t know before I open the machine. That’s why I’ve also ordered a smol set of screwdrivers evene though I already own a set but it’s in storage and getting to it would cost more than buying a new, cheap set since I’d have to take two buses and three trains to get to the storage unit and it’d also take the majority of a day to do it. This way is simply cheaper and easier.
Once the system is re-initiated on the new drive the next step will be to slowly get deeper into how this whole Linux thing works and see what I can do with it im terms of customizing it. But before I get to that I have to assess if there’s anything I need from it that it doesn’t already do. Which I kinda doubt but the more I learn, the better I’ll be able to troubleshoot any issues I might encounter in the future.
We’ll see what happens.
Thanks for reading.
